Teshimas Restaurant

Teshimas has been a local favorite since 1929, when it started out as a general merchandise store, selling beer and wine, in Honalo, Kona. This family run shop became a restaurant in 1940 and quickly gained popularity. Some of the great and delicious foods you can find here are mainly of Japanese influence but also includes local favorites such as beef tomato, curry stew and spare ribs.
Some of the many attributes of this restaurant that make it so special are the casual and family orientated atmosphere and the vintage Japanese decor. Large gatherings can be held upstairs for family get togethers such as wedding receptions, birthday parties and other similar events.
Another unique quality of this restaurant is that the founder, Mrs. Teshima, who is now 103,  would always remember her costumers and their families, new or old. She also would go around the dining area and converse with returning costumers.
If you want an authentic Kona dining experience, Teshimas is a must for your trip.
